I compare them based on more than just profitability. I look at drawdown, profit factor, consistency, risk-to-reward, and how well they perform across different market conditions. I also pay close attention to forward testing and execution on a live account, since an EA that looks great in backtests may perform differently in real trading. For me, consistency and risk management matter just as much as returns.

Yeah, that could explain it. No stop-loss can definitely leave a position exposed to a big move against you.

Anyone running this on a real account rather than demo? Would be interested in hearing how execution compares. If you had to choose between a high-return EA with bigger drawdown and a slower EA with tighter risk, which would you take? For those who've tested several EAs, what usually separates the good ones from the ones that look good only in backtests?
